  1. Please tell us about yourself

I am Nonhlanhla Dalasile, A Visionary driven by purpose, born, and raised in Dawn Park. I am a woman of many talents and abilities, a woman of purpose, the voice to the voiceless and a leader never a follower. Empowered, self – motivated, goal-driven, and wise. I am an aspiring entrepreneur/ pageant founder and event coordinator. I do everything to my full potential and whenever I see a gap in the market, I fill it. I don’t go after opportunities, I create them. As much as I am a working in progress, I believe that, there is always room for improvement and growth.

  1. Experience that almost destroyed me.

Allowing him to define, who I am and where I was going. 2019, I was in a toxic relationship, I couldn’t be me nor free. I was held back, each time, I try to be me and reach my full potential, he would feel threatened, I had to hide who I am, to accommodate him and make him feel superior. I neglected my dreams so I could help him achieve his dreams. By that time, my dreams and what my heart desires were not important. I felt like limbo, prisoned. Each time, I disagree with him, he would tell me how useless I am and make me feel worthless. But I still convinced myself that, he will change and see me for what I am. Things got worse, he started being physical. With everything that was happening, everything to me seemed normal. I just got used to being called stupid, useless, bitch, and all those hurtful words that you can think of. I fell into depression. Drowned and drowned. With no voice to speak or an ear to listen. I was happy in the outside and dying in the inside. No one knew how I was feeling or what I was going through. One day, I reached my breaking point, by that time, I have had enough. As broken and difficult it was, I left. AND I DON’T REGRET IT. I Thank God for giving me the strength to walk away. Sometimes Gd will take you through the storm to mould you into seeing the light. I am happy, I am free and ready to take over the world!

  1. How has this experience impacted your life

My most painful experience was a blessing in disguise. Because would I have not gone

through what I went through, I wouldn’t be this strong and wise. It contributed to my growth and made me strong.

Do you think what that had it not been for this experience would have become the person you are?

No. it made me strong to a point whereby, I can stand any storm.

What advise do you have for someone that has been through the same experience

Be you. Own yourself. Never allow anyone or anything to define who you are and take your happiness away from you.

What does women empowerment mean to you?

A term that unites and liberates young girls and women.

What are some of your achievements?

 2019, I become Miss Boksburg Face of the year

 2020, I was in the top 10 for Miss Africa

 Later in the year, I started my own pageant, Mr & Miss East Rand Pageant

 Being of 2021, I open another pageant, Miss Dawn Park

 I then decided to spread my wings and started Miss empower South Africa.

Please tell us more about your upcoming projects

  1. Miss Empower South Africa

A national pageant that aims to empower and unites young girls and women in south Africa.

A platform where women feel liberated and can voice their opinions.

  1. Gauteng Youth Awards

A platform that will motivate the youth and help them achieve their dreams. A platform that

will bring hope to the hopeless.

What inspired you to join pageantry.

Basetsana Kumalo. Her confidence, her drive, and the way she carries herself. I saw pageantry as a platform to grow and meet powerful people. I have been in the modelling industry for 3 years, within that 3 years I have learnt a lot and grew in the industry

What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind.

When I leave this world, I want to leave my footprint in the sands of time, know that I lived, fought, believed, stood, and strived for my people. I want people to know that, I was served my community whole heartedly, with pride and joy. I want to be remembered for all the good I have done in people’s lives, and the opportunities I have created.
