Please share with us an experience that almost destroyed you, an experience that almost cost you your life, however you decided to go out there and Fetch Your Life?
It was back in 2016, when I just found out that I’m with HIV positive. That really broke me down into pieces, I lost my confidence, self-esteem, and I did not see myself as a valuable individual. I was shuttered, because I was asking myself too many questions and couldn’t find any answers to this day. It’s still a mystery how I got infected with the virus as my husband is HIV negative.
How has this experience impacted your life?
I must say after finding out, I was shocked, confused and hurt at the same time. It was a terrible experience that impacted my life so negatively to such an extent that I even attempted committing suicide, but I survived and found myself laying in a hospital bed.
Do you think that had it not been for this experience you would have become the person you are?
I believe this experience played a major role in my life, because if it wasn’t for it, I wouldn’t have been a role model that I am today. This experience has helped me look at things in a different way and never take anything lightly. However, my husband Mr Malingisa also played a very big role by supporting me in every way. He also helped me to discover that I worth more that the virus that’s in my blood. He showed me that there’s so much more that I can offer to the world than just feeling sorry for myself and trying to commit suicide. He took me for counselling and attended all the sessions with me just to support me. That was before we had children and by the grace of God both our daughters are negative
What advise do you have for someone that has been through the same experience?
My advice would be never giving up on yourself just because you tested positive of any sickness or disease. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you are worthy, important, beautiful/handsome, valuable, and confident enough to do whatever you set your mind into. You are more than a conqueror. Go for counselling, take your medication, and surround yourself with people who brings out the best in you. Focus more on the positive things that you can
What does women Empowerment mean to you?
Women empowerment means promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. Women Empowerment is not just a phrase but rather a movement because we have a lot of women from all walks of life with different opinions and diversity as well as making sure that we come together with one voice.
What are some of your achievements?
Miss Moroeroe Primary School
Miss Swanville 1st Princess 2010
Miss Summer 2011
Miss Soweto Festive 2012
Mrs Africa Globe 2020
and an Actress. I also have my own company which I run with my husband called (KMP Foundation). The KMP Foundation runs the Annual Mr and Miss Braamfischerville Beauty Pageant
What should we expect from you in 2021?
More engagement in Women Empowerment campaigns, participating in community-based projects even though I have a 9-5 job, and making more tv appearances (Acting).
What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?
I want to leave a generational legacy that would bring about a positive impact to many communities around the world and feed as many families as possible.
